GHANA IN LONDON

Afrobeats, Afrohits, Afro popular music, is becoming more and more popular in the UK and in other countries across the world. Although it could be traced back to Fela Kuti era, it is now more than ever finding its place in the music industry. Today afrobeats is played in mainstream radio and TV stations. Ghanaians artist in London such as Fuse ODG and Mista Silva have contributed to increase the popularity of this genre.  Afrobeats does not carry out any political message but it made for people to celebrate life. It is created to make people forget about their problems and be happy. Afrobeats has a distinctive rhythmic which cannot be fond in any other music genre. Back in the days African tribes were making sound by playing the drums and by creating sound with their mouth. Today producers make beats through computer sound system. Before other countries did not have access to music coming from Africa, but now through Youtube and social media it is possible to listen to Afrobeats anywhere.  Azonto and Alkayida dance are the moves people perform when Afrobeats is playing.
